Another attraction to be seen in this wonder place called Almaty is the Baiken Mosque. The Mosque which was opened on 5th December 2014 on the pursuit of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev is in honour of the prominent statemen, President of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of Kazakh SSR Baiken Ashimov. It is located on the crossing of the streets Rozybakiev and Zhandosov and is the biggest mosque in the Bostandyk area of Almaty. The Baiken Mosque is built on area of 6000 sq. meters and can accommodate 3000 persons and consists of 6 floors. This mosque has different sections for male and female praying halls and is one of the most modern day architecture piece in Almaty.
The Baiken mosque is also famous for its day and night lighting and the light it illuminates starting from the interiors and finishing it at the carpets, gives it an ethereal feel thus making it the one of the most beautiful mosques of Kazakhstan.
